This central Prague hotel has a history going back to the 1700s, and it was remodeled into its current classical style in 1811. For decades the building was the home of the Old Prague Restaurant, which was frequented by Czech actors, actresses, novelists, composers, and songwriters in the early 1900s. Today it¿s a small family hotel with 13 double rooms and 1 family suite. The quaint hotel restaurant serves local dishes such as potato soup, beef goulash, and roasted duck as well as international favourites like hamburgers, grilled salmon, and Greek salad. The Hotel U Schnell¿ is located near the intersection of 2 major streets, Letenská and Tomá¿ská, in the Castle District (Hrad¿any) of Prague. To the north and northwest of the hotel are the grounds of Prague Castle (Pra¿ský Hrad), a huge complex where kings, Holy Roman Emperors, and presidents have had their offices.
